Making big dreams come true in 2017

In this past year, we have focused on the Lynedoch Valley to consider deeply the need for and impact of our work in our community. We have dedicated our mission as a non-profit trust to have a transformative impact on the lives of the children and youth in the Lynedoch valley through the educational programmes we offer.

The collective efforts of staff, beneficiaries, supporters and funders have helped us to reach many goals in 2017. In our recently published Impact report for 2017, we reflect on the many wonderful things that unfolded in our children and youth programmes. We are thankful for being able to impact the lives of more than 250 children and their families, with the bursaries and after-school support made available.

In 2018, we want to make more big dreams come true. Building on feedback from our direct community in the Lynedoch Valley, we are eager to get going on achieving our goals that will benefit the Valley even further.

The biggest challenge remains financial resources, and across all programmes, we are looking for funding support so please contact us to find out more information on how your donation could be invested. For example, your donations could assist with some of these direct investments:

  • Provide additional bursaries for approximately 20 children from the Lynedoch Valley who currently aren’t attending SPARK Lynedoch. (R1800 per month or R22 000 per child per annum)
  • Invest in our youth skills programme to enable more youth to participate and benefit from the programme. (R1200 per month or R15 000 per youth per annum)
  • Support the investment into our Healing, Learning from Nature and Edible Curriculum initiatives at the Lynedoch Children’s House. (R1000 per month or R12 000 per annum)

The Sustainability Institute is a non-profit trust and can issue Section 18A tax certificates for donations received from both individuals and organisations. As a Public Benefit Organisation, donations are tax-deductible. Donations can be made through GivenGain or via EFT
